SENIOR DATA ANALYST

 

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

  • Ongoing full-time opportunities
  • This is a full-time role and you will be required to work minimum 3 days per week in an identified education office location.

  • Clerk Grade 9/10 with base salary ranging from $129,464 to $142,665 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

About the Student Wellbeing Support directorate

Student Wellbeing Support provide direct support to schools to strengthen accessible and inclusive education practice to maximise wellbeing and learning for students in NSW public schools. The Student Wellbeing Support directorate includes four Student Wellbeing Support groups that service our schools across various principal networks. Student Wellbeing Support advances equitable outcomes through outcomes focused programs, systems, and processes.

 

Schools access our support through the one-call, Team Around a School model. The Team Around a School helps school teams to improve student learning and wellbeing practices and strengthens school and staff initiatives across the care continuum. We are a key enabler of the department’s Plan for Public Education and are committed to ensuring we provide support to schools that is efficient, effective, and easy to access.

 

About the role

The Senior Data Analyst supports the implementation and operation of programs delivered by the Student Wellbeing Support directorate, providing executive-level reporting and analytical insights on emerging trends, issues, priorities, and policies governing the directorate.

Key knowledge and experience:

Essential requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience. 
  • Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willing to acquire one)
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

Q1 - What experience do you have preparing reports, dashboards, or documentation using information synthesised from multiple complex data sources, including platforms such as Power BI, Salesforce, SQL databases, or R? What analytical or quantitative techniques did you use? (maximum 300 words)

 

Q2 - Can you describe your experience managing a direct report and the strategies you used to maximise their performance in a fast-paced environment? (maximum 300 words)
