The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for the position of Visiting Professor in Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models and Trustworthy AI at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE).
NTU has developed strong capabilities in artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent systems and interdisciplinary applications. To strengthen research in natural language processing, large language models, trustworthy, explainable and responsible AI, and emerging agentic AI, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) is seeking to appoint a Visiting Professor with an outstanding international reputation and a strong record of academic leadership. The appointee is expected to work with EEE faculty and research teams to advance strategic research directions, deepen international collaborations, contribute to specialist postgraduate education, and support major external grant proposals.
Work with NTU and EEE research teams to develop strategic research directions in natural language processing, large language models, trustworthy, explainable, responsible AI, and agentic AI.
Contribute to collaborative research in natural language processing, sentiment analysis, social media analytics, large language models and trustworthy AI.
Deliver public seminars, research talks and specialist lectures in NLP, LLMs, trustworthy AI and explainable AI.
Contribute to EEE postgraduate teaching and training through specialised topics in trustworthy/explainable AI and large language models.
Participate in external grant applications and large-scale collaborative research proposals as an international collaborator.
Enhance NTU’s international visibility by promoting exchanges, research collaborations and academic links with leading international institutions.
Requirements:
Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
Full Professor in natural language processing, artificial intelligence from a reputable university.
Internationally recognised research achievements in natural language processing, sentiment analysis, social media analytics, large language models, trustworthy AI, explainable AI or responsible AI.
Strong publication record, research impact and evidence of international recognition, including major awards, highly cited work, editorial/service roles, or leadership in major conferences and research communities.
Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, research management, interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of major research programmes or external grant proposals.
