We are seeking a Senior HNW CDD Specialist to support the Prudential High Net Worth (HNW) and Bermuda business. The role is responsible for overseeing first-line customer due diligence activities for HNW business, including Bermuda, ensuring compliance with applicable AML/CFT, sanctions, and regulatory requirements while supporting a seamless onboarding experience.

The role acts as the primary escalation point for complex and high-risk customers, including trusts, family offices, offshore entities, premium financing arrangements, and UHNW ownership structures. As a first line of defense, the Senior HNW CDD Specialist works closely with Case Management, Underwriting, Distribution, and Compliance teams to balance customer experience with robust risk management.

Customer due diligence & risk assessment

  • Lead customer due diligence reviews for HNW policies, including Bermuda-based policies
  • Conduct customer risk assessments and determine the appropriate level of due diligence required
  • Review source of wealth, source of funds, beneficial ownership, and ownership structures
  • Perform sanctions, PEP, adverse media, and jurisdictional risk screening
  • Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) activities where required

Complex case review & escalation

  • Serve as the first escalation point for high-risk and complex cases
  • Assess trusts, family offices, premium financing arrangements, and offshore structures
  • Identify and escalate indicators of potential money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or sanctions concerns
  • Liaise with Compliance and Legal teams on unusual structures or higher-risk relationships

Governance and quality assurance

  • Ensure consistent application of AML/CFT policies, procedures, and onboarding standards
  • Conduct quality reviews on completed CDD assessments
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready documentation and evidence trails
  • Support regulatory reviews, audits, and remediation activities

Stakeholder coordination

  • Partner with Case Managers to ensure CDD processes are conducted in alignment with the outlined onboarding processes
  • Work closely with Underwriters to ensure CDD requirements are satisfied prior to policy issuance
  • Liaise with Distribution teams to ensure Distribution teams have clarity on CDD requirements and documentation expectations as part of customer onboarding process
  • Maintain trusted working relationships across Operations, Compliance, Distribution, and Underwriting

Team leadership & operational excellence

  • Provide guidance and coaching to HNW CDD Specialists
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and customer experience in relation to CDD processes
  • Contribute to operational projects and process enhancement initiatives for CDD processes

Requirements & Qualifications

  • University graduate, preferably in Business, Risk Management or a related discipline
  • 7–10+ years of AML/KYC/CDD experience within insurance, private banking, wealth management, trust, or financial services environments
  • Significant experience assessing HNW/UHNW customers and complex ownership structures
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, PEP, adverse media, and customer risk assessment frameworks
  • Experience reviewing trusts, family offices, premium financing arrangements, and offshore entities preferred
  • CAMS, ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Strong analytical, investigation, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
