Division: Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Work Arrangement: Onsite only Location: Houston, TX Salary Range: $39,150 - $46,059 FLSA Status: Nonexempt Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Summary The Research Coordinator I will coordinate the day to day activities of Dr. Christopher Verrico's research studies in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The selected candidate will screen, enroll, and monitor research participants for various substance use research protocols. This position will collect and document patient information and ensure safety of research participants. Position will be interacting and enrolling participants military service members, veterans, and/or civillians at the MEDVAMC. This position will sit at the MEDVAMC. This is an on-site role. Job Duties Interviews, screens, recruits’ participants for study; explains processes and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study. Collects, enters, and processes participant information into a database. Performs EKGs/ECG’s, and obtains vital signs on study participants. Liaisons with the MEDVAMC to facilitate research procedures and ensure proper transfer of data. Collects, processes, and maintains paperwork for blood and biological specimens according to research procedure and protocol. Participates in team meetings regarding research study recruitment of participants. Schedules research participants for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research protocol. Corresponds with patent throughout the study. Performs other job duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Three years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. No experience required with preferred degree. Work Authorization Requirement: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
