Pay: $22.00–$23.00 per hour

Position Summary
St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team. The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality. In the absence of the Dietary Supervisor, this position assumes responsibility for managing daily kitchen operations and supervising dietary staff as needed.The Dietary Cook reports directly to the Dietary Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of foods in large quantities according to approved menus and recipes.
Follow portion control guidelines and ensure meal accuracy.
Prepare and serve regular, modified, and special diets, including pureed foods.
Monitor and record food temperatures in accordance with food safety regulations.
Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment.
Ensure sanitizer buckets contain the proper quaternary solution levels.
Assist with meal service and food distribution.
Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, work areas, and serving carts.
Ensure all cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures are completed as assigned.
Present meals in an attractive and appealing manner for residents.
Collaborate effectively with staff across all departments.
Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of dietary personnel.
Report resident care concerns, safety issues, or potential problems to the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing.
Perform other duties as assigned to support dietary services and resident satisfaction.
Qualifications
Ability to prepare high-quality meals in large quantities.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.
Ability to accurately prepare special and therapeutic diets.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Dependable, professional, and committed to resident-centered care.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides supervision and direction to dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Assists in maintaining efficient kitchen operations and compliance with facility standards.
