The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has an opening for a part-time Instructional Assistant in our Gateway Program within the Division of Student Services. Location:

• TCHS Brandywine - 443 Boot Road, Downingtown, PA 19335

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or higher or completion of two years of post-secondary education or 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Current, within one year, police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by the CCIU upon hire)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Applicants will be responsible for assisting students with varying abilities and support needs with the implementation of educational and skills programming.  Must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an educational setting.

Hourly rate (2026-2027 School Year): 

The IA pay scale is broken down below for you to reference.

• 0 - 9 yrs experience = $19.38
• 10 - 13 yrs experience = $21.29
• 14 - 17 yrs experience = $23.19
• 18 - 25 yrs experience = $25.11
• *Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $19.38
• *Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $23.19

• Part-time: 6.5 hours per day; Monday through Friday; 186 days per year year 1 and 185 days per year after that
