About the role: 

We’re currently seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist – Level 2 to join our Allied Health team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Toowoomba. 

In this position you will play a pivotal role in supporting our patients through their recovery and rehabilitation.  This is a permanent full-time opportunity (38 hours per week) working in a modern regional private hospital with a diverse caseload and supported by a multidisciplinary team of highly experienced clinicians.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 197-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Things that work for us:

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology / Masters of Speech Pathology or equivalent

  • Certificated Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia

  • Ideally 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience (desirable but not essential)

  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level speech pathology services to patients, including those with complex and/or varied needs within a hospital or acute and subacute facility

  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks and duties with a high degree of independence, including caseload management

  • Strong commitment and professionalism to patient centred care

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Availability to work a variety of shifts including weekdays and occasional weekends.
