At Uvalde Memorial Hospital, patient safety is at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Safety & Risk Coordinator to help lead our organization’s commitment to safe, high-quality care and continuous improvement.

This role is more than managing processes — it’s an opportunity to create meaningful change, strengthen a culture of safety, and make a lasting impact on the lives of patients, families, and healthcare teams every day.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead patient safety and risk management initiatives that improve outcomes and reduce harm across the organization.
  • Oversee the hospital’s event reporting system and coordinate timely investigations of patient safety events and incidents.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), Apparent Cause Analyses (ACAs), and patient safety reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and monitor corrective action plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and hospital leadership.
  • Analyze trends and data to identify risks, improve processes, and support high-reliability practices.
  • Manage the hospital’s policy management system to ensure policies remain current, compliant, and aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Educate and support staff on patient safety principles, incident reporting, and risk prevention strategies.
  • Partner with leaders across departments to promote transparency, accountability, and a strong culture of safety.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related healthcare field preferred.
  • Current Texas RN license required if clinically licensed.
  • CPHRM and/or CPPS certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in patient safety, risk management, quality improvement, or clinical healthcare preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS, Joint Commission standards, and healthcare risk management principles.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and drive positive organizational change.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Be part of a mission-driven team committed to patient-centered excellence.
  • Help shape a culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders and healthcare professionals across the organization.
  • Enjoy opportunities for professional growth, continuing education, and career advancement.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.
