
National Payroll Supervisor
Job Description
The Opportunity
Join Veolia's high-performing payroll team and play a key role in supporting accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll services to thousands of employees across Australia. You'll supervise payroll processing activities, coach and develop payroll officers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within one of Australia's most recognised sustainability leaders.
This role is initially offered on a 9 month fixed term contract basis.

What you'll be responsible for
-
Manage payroll team, coach and cross-skill Payroll Officers, conduct regular meetings, and manage performance to ensure team members reach their potential

Support payroll system testing and configuration in SAP SuccessFactors ECP

Maintain confidentiality and ensure legislative and policy compliance at all times

Ensure monthly and weekly payroll processes comply with Veolia’s policy and deadlines; establish procedures, investigate concerns, and maintain accurate processing

Assist with payroll account reconciliations, prepare annual tax returns, complete ABS data requests, and generate ad hoc reports as required

Maintain compliance with legislation, ATO requirements, EBAs, Awards, and payroll tax regulations; ensure strong communication with HR, Finance, and IT

Manage termination payments, ensure new employee paperwork completion, maintain confidentiality of payroll records, and archive information per audit requirements
What you'll need to be successful

Minimum 5 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing

2 years experience in a supervisory role

Proven experience with SAP SuccessFactors & ECP (essential)

Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, ATO compliance, superannuation, and payroll tax

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability

Excellent attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Collaborative team player with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines

Experience with UKG Pro (desirable)
