About the Role
We are currently seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our Environmental team at our Stafford facility. This is a full time position offering an excellent entry point into the environmental laboratory services industry.
As a Sample Preparer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mining, agricultural and Acid Sulphate Soil clients by preparing soil and rock samples for chemical analysis. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a production environment and are committed to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate sample preparation equipment in accordance with standard procedures
- Sort and verify incoming samples against client submission documentation
- Label and record samples accurately using internal systems
- Prepare samples through crushing, splitting, sieving, drying, and pulverizing
- Monitor equipment performance and report faults or anomalies
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas
- Adhere to strict health, safety, and quality standards always
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- A proactive and team-oriented mindset
- Reliability and commitment to a full-time roster
- Physical fitness and ability to perform repetitive manual handling tasks
- Willingness to work in a dusty environment while wearing PPE, including a half-face respirator (clean-shaven requirement for proper fit)
- Ability to regularly manually handle items weighing 10-15kg
Previous experience in production, warehousing, or laboratory environments will be highly regarded but is not essential.
