Job Description

At Renewance we envision a world where every home, business, and vehicle is powered by clean, renewable energy. Our mission is to help society transition to greener energy and mobility solutions through supporting the sustainable use of industrial batteries. Since its inception in 2015, Renewance has evolved into a leading provider of industrial battery lifecycle services and asset management solutions for efficient and responsible battery energy storage and EV battery deployments, operations, and end-of-life management. Renewance is a vibrant SME that is well poised for an ambitious growth journey in a high growth industry.

Renewance is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you’ll be focused on supporting the business with FP&A responsibilities, including but not limited to planning, budgeting, forecasting, ad-hoc financial modeling, financial and management reporting, revenue and margin analysis, as well as supporting the monthly financial close process. You'll also work closely with our Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and leadership teams to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency, while partnering with the Operations team to identify ways to improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with advanced financial modeling skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities, and brings a builder mentality: comfortable creating structure where ambiguity exists and continuously improving processes and tools

Responsibilities:

  • Support with the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, working cross-functionally to consolidate inputs and produce quality outputs
  • Build and maintain dynamic financial models, including three-statement operating models, scenario analyses, and ad-hoc deal/project models
  • Identify and explain variances between actuals, budget, and prior periods; translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
  • Partner with AP and AR teams to ensure accuracy in expense tracking, cash flow management, and timely processing of invoices and payments
  • Support the monthly financial close process in partnership with the accounting team, including accruals, project profitability, deferred revenue scheduling, and balance sheet flux analysis
  • Work closely with the Operations team to monitor key operational metrics, and assess project financial performance
  • Produce monthly reports, including key metrics, financial results, and variance analysis reporting
  • Build and maintain reporting templates that can scale—reducing manual effort and improving consistency across reporting periods
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across financial reporting, data workflows, and close processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; or relevant work experience
  • 4-7 years of financial planning & analysis experience
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity, working with large and imperfect data sets, and building structure where processes are not yet defined
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; advanced formulas, PivotTables, dynamic data modeling
  • Strong command of GAAP accounting principles; ability to read, interpret, and work from financial statements with confidence
  • Exceptional attention to detail—you catch errors before they cascade and build checks and validation into your models
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to work autonomously, manage multiple concurrent workstreams under deadline pressure

Benefits:

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 15 days of paid time off annually to recharge and relax
  • Insurance Plans:
    • Basic Life
    • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
    • Short-term Disability
    • Long-term Disability
  • Health Plans: Choose between our Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan or opt for a Health Savings Account (HSA) plan that suits your needs.
  • Dental and Vision Plans: Access comprehensive dental and vision coverage to ensure your overall well-being.
