General Position Summary: Ensure that the store meets all sales targets set by managing the day to day activities of the store to ensure its efficient, profitable and customer-oriented operation
Includes managing all personnel issue such as hiring, performance evaluation, termination and training
Manage and monitor store operating budget and report back on sales budget versus actual, KPIs, products, training, scheduling, maintenance, health & safety, etc. on a regular formal basis
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: • Provide all customers with a first class service giving advice on our products to assist with their shopping experience, using the 5 STEPS guidelines. • Plans to accomplish goals and hold daily meetings to inform staff of progress towards accomplishment of goals. • Manage team on the sales floor
Includes overseeing the daily store activities
Direct and delegate daily tasks such as cleaning and stocking
Ensures accuracy of opening and closing procedures, such as balancing registers, preparing cash bags, activating security system. • Hire, train, evaluate and terminate staff as necessary (and with appropriate partnerships) to achieve the sales targets whilst maintaining high level of service and quality
Includes training staff in good customer service tools and sales techniques, retail operations and ensuring store team learns and remains knowledgeable in current product features and benefits. • Prepare, track, and be held accountable for the store operating budget
Ensure the store is on track with regards sales targets, reporting these on a regular basis and suggesting remedial action when necessary
Provide the Operations Manager and Director of Retail with all store reportings, data analysis, and sales results on a regular basis
Analyze sales results and KPIs, and propose solutions to increase sales and KPIs results. • Ensure store is adequately staffed by developing and communicating staffing schedules incorporating flexibility to cover for holidays, sickness and other ad-hoc absences
Ensure peak selling periods are adequately covered when producing the staffing schedule
Ensure all staff are aware of the schedule ahead of time by making it easily accessible. • Plan the display of products in accordance with corporate guidelines. • Communicate motivational incentives for sales staff. • Work closely with the Operations Manager with regards store maintenance and contractual issues with an aim to resolve issues in a timely manner. • Establish and enforce departmental quality and service standards
Includes setting and following a high professional standard in individual behavior for the demonstration of respect, courtesy and professionalism, including attendance and timeliness. • Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization. • Authorize and process returns and exchanges. • Follow company’s policies & procedures. • Perform other related duties as assigned.
