Job Description
The Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the facility’s food safety programs, controls, and processes, monitoring that these meet company, customer, federal, state, and local standards, including FDA, USDA, AIB, and SQF Storage & Distribution requirements. The Food Safety Coordinator administers food safety and sanitation programs—including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as applicable to food storage and handling, Good Warehousing/Distribution Practices, HACCP, and allergen control—to protect product integrity. The Food Safety Coordinator conducts food safety audits, maintains food safety documentation, uses experience to make recommendations to management, and serves as the facility’s SQF practitioner under the SQF Storage & Distribution Code.
