At the FM, we are creating a brand-new garden-museum experience for Singaporeans, by Singaporeans. A national landmark at the heart of our garden city, uncovering the story of how independent Singapore came to be, and bringing Singaporeans across generations together to reflect and have bold conversations about what our founding values mean today and for our future.

The FM is seeking a suitable candidate to join the Partnerships and Programmes team. You will be part of a passionate team dedicated to expanding and deepening FM’s impact through strategic partnerships and innovative programming. For this role, you will focus on implementing strategies to attract, engage and mobilise volunteers, building a vibrant volunteer community and meaningful opportunities for people to contribute their time, talent, treasures and ties to advancing FM’s vision. [What you will be working on]

  • Volunteer Recruitment and Deployment: Develop and implement strategies for recruiting, onboarding and mobilising volunteers to support the Founders’ Memorial's activities and initiatives. Identify, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with community organisations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to establish a sustainable pipeline of engaged and motivated volunteers. 

  • Volunteer Engagement: Volunteer engagement schemes and programmes such as volunteer benefits, rewards and recognition initiatives, corporate volunteerism, and capability building and training programmes for various volunteer groups such as hosts, exhibition guides, ambassadors, programme volunteers and care facilitators.  

  • Programme Development:Plan, curate and execute accessible and inclusive community programmes, events, and workshops to attract and engage diverse audience groups, making the Memorial’s content and stories come alive to them. 

  • Festivals and Community Outreach: Plan and execute mass events to drive visitorship and build community, including working with the communications and marketing teams to implement outreach and publicity efforts. 

  • Evaluation and Reporting:Monitor the effectiveness of community programmes, gather feedback, and prepare reports to assess the impact and success of the initiatives.  

  • Budget Management:Monitor and track budget utilisation of assigned programmes and prepare reports for proper accountability of funds and resources.

[What we are looking for]

  • Background in a relevant field such as arts, business, communications, public policy or social sciences   

  • Proven experience in volunteer management, community engagement and partnerships and programme development. Work experience in a museum or attraction setting is an advantage but not mandatory.  

  • Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding Ability to effectively attract, select and integrate volunteers. 

  • Volunteer Training & Development Ability to design, deliver and oversee training programmes that enhance the skills, knowledge and effectiveness of volunteers. 

  • Volunteer Recognition & Retention Strategies Ability to implement impactful strategies to acknowledge and appreciate volunteers for their contributions, and build strong relationships with volunteers.  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the interest and ability to build relationships with people from diverse walks of life.  

  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop engaging programmes for a wide profile of audience 

  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.  

  • Some weekend and after-work hours engagements might be required – candidates should be prepared to exercise some flexibility in his/her work schedule
