What We're Looking For:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Agile engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our software solutions, focusing heavily on applications built for the Android OS and supported by scalable cloud infrastructure.You will lead the validation of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) applications, REST APIs, and microservices while driving our automation strategy using Robot Framework and Python. We are a forward-looking team, and we are looking for someone who is not only a strong automation engineer but also enthusiastic about leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to optimize our testing processes.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Automation: Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test suites for both Android-based applications and backend services.
Cloud & API Validation: Perform comprehensive testing and validation of GCP applications, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.
Scalability Testing: Drive real-time scalability and performance automation initiatives using Python and Robot Framework.
Agile Execution: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives) and collaborate closely with developers and product owners to ensure seamless project execution.
Innovation & AI Adoption: Utilize modern AI tools to enhance test coverage, streamline debugging, and improve overall QA efficiency. Stay up-to-date with new technologies and integrate them into our testing pipeline.
Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, track defects, and advocate for best practices in software quality assurance and deployment governance.
Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor of Engineering
Experience: 3 to 6 years of proven experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or similar role in software solutions.
Android Ecosystem: Hands-on experience testing and automating applications developed on the Android OS.
Cloud & Microservices: Strong background in validating GCP-based applications, distributed microservices, and REST APIs.
Automation Frameworks: Deep proficiency in Python programming and extensive experience building automation from scratch using the Robot Framework.
Agile Methodologies: Proven track record of working successfully within Agile/Scrum project executions.
Tech-Forward Mindset: Experience using AI tools in your daily engineering workflows, or a strong, demonstrable willingness to learn and adopt AI and emerging technologies.
Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and a passion for breaking (and fixing) software.
Nice to Have
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
Understanding of software release management and cadence definition.
Familiarity with performance management and setting testing KPIs.
