Responsibilities:
Position Brief:
The Assistant Manager, together with the Commercial Controller and Business Commercial Head will manage sales and marketing activities of our Pulp business. Based in Kuala Lumpur office, the position reports to the Pulp Commercial Controller and work closely with business group ("BG") senior management and the commercial teams to ensure that our sales activities are properly conducted to meet commercial, profitability, management targets and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities:
• Overall business performance of the pulp business group to meet targeted volume & profitability
• Partner commercial management to drive business and financial performance
• Ensure proper trading models, policies & controls are in place
• Manage proper & timely market & financial analyses to support management decision making
• Ensure close monitoring & coordination of production, shipment & sales activities against target
• Ensure appropriate market pricing, order backlog and proper AR management & collection
• Maintain tight control over credit approvals, rebate/sales incentives and customer claims
• Manage optimal inventory level for finished goods and meeting customer delivery requirements
• Ensure operational/forecast discipline to meet specific business targets for compliance purposes
• Build good cadence to support timely business & management reviews including annual budget
Requirements:
• Minimum 6 years' strategic financial management experience gained from a corporate/MNC environment with a significant manufacturing asset base
• Business partnering skills and a good team player
• Commercially oriented with high energy, a 'can-do' attitude and hands-on
• Operationally in tune with the business with a keen eye for analysis and details
• Possess business acumen and strong commercial sense
• Driven, sharp, results orientated with strong understanding of business operations and key drivers
• Ability to strike a good balance between cost control versus value adding
• Stong communication and presentation skills (oral and written); as well as fluency in English, Bahasa and Mandarin as you will be required to liase with overseas offices
