Overview: The Loan Payment Representative builds a working knowledge of various types of loans (e.g., consumer, indirect, mortgage, and commercial) to ensure members’ loan payment needs are addressed and resolved. This role ensures that lending system records are reviewed, updated, and maintained and is integral in processing loan payments. Essential Responsibilities: Open and distribute incoming mail Accurately post payments to loan accounts Answer inbound calls, emails, and chats to assist and educate members with inquiries regarding consumer loans, lines of credit, credit cards, mortgages, and commercial loans Educate and assist members with loan payment solutions Process adverse action notices Review and verify insurance paperwork to confirm insurance on GECU collateral meets required parameters including lienholder information Contact members and/or insurance agents when insurance does not meet required parameters Perform other duties to support the department as necessary Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required One year of experience in the banking industry, loan servicing, or related role required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic interpersonal skills to effectively speak with members and create a positive member experience Proficient verbal and written communication skills to display professionalism in interactions Ability to learn and maintain proficiency in multiple computer systems including Microsoft Office Products and credit union systems Capable of functioning well in a fast-paced environment Problem solver with good organizational and analytical skills At GECU, we want to support your wellbeing by offering a wide range of benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance Life and Disability insurance options Paid Time Off starts accruing once hired and take your birthday off -paid 401k Retirement plan with up to a 10% match of your base gross compensation Tuition reimbursement opportunities professional development Volunteer opportunities -and earn additional PTO hours!
