About this Role
Candidate will make daily visit to facilities in order to perform corrosion inspections. Measures and supervision of work related to corrosion will be performed. Inspectors will create reports, which in some cases may include reparation's cost analysis.
Responsibilties:
Conduct inspections of piping, tanks, structural components, and utility systems to identify corrosion, coating failures, and material degradation.
Perform thickness measurements, visual inspections, and non-destructive testing (NDT) in accordance with applicable standards.
Document findings through detailed inspection reports, photographs, and condition assessments.
Monitor corrosion control systems, including cathodic protection, coatings, and chemical treatment programs.
Recommend corrective actions, repair strategies, and preventive maintenance measures.
Support root-cause analysis for corrosion-related failures or anomalies.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, API, NACE/AMPP, and site-specific safety requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and construction teams to plan inspections and coordinate access.
Maintain accurate records of inspection schedules, equipment histories, and corrosion monitoring data.
Participate in risk-based inspection (RBI) programs and asset integrity initiatives.
Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Technology, or related field OR equivalent technical experience.
NACE/AMPP certification (CIP Level I, II, or III; CP certifications; or equivalent).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in corrosion inspection, coatings, or asset integrity.
Experience with NDT methods such as UT, MT, PT, RT, or VT.
Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms, protective coatings, and material selection.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Proficiency in report writing and digital inspection tools.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred for Puerto Rico operations.
Valid OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Inspection experience in pharmaceutical, industrial, petrochemical, or utility environments.
- Familiarity with API standards (API 570, 653, 510) and RBI methodologies.
- Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and coating application processes.
- Experience working with contractors, maintenance teams, and multidisciplinary engineering groups.
