Job Description
The Opportunity
Are you a tech-savvy professional ready to move beyond the help desk and into the driver’s seat of corporate strategy? The Budd Group is seeking a Project Manager I to help build our project management function from the ground up.
In this newly created role, you won't just be following a rigid playbook; you will partner directly with our Corporate Project Manager to "right-size" our methodology. You will act as the architect of our intake process, turning business problems into technical solutions while managing a diverse portfolio of IT, HR, and operational projects.
Key Responsibilities
The "Intake" Architect: Add rigor to how projects are requested. You will interview stakeholders to identify business problems, define scope, conduct cost-benefit appraisals, and flag potential risks.
Project Execution: Lead "impermanent efforts"—from standing up new systems to scoping changes—ensuring they stay within the "Core Triangle" of Scope, Time, and Budget.
Smartsheet Mastery: Serve as the primary administrator for Smartsheet (our "Source of Truth"), building automated workflows, intake forms, and executive dashboards.
Influence Without Authority: Lead project teams where members may outrank you. You must have the confidence to hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables and milestones.
Value Delivery: Ensure every project provides a quantitative or qualitative benefit to the company, from infrastructure optimization to corporate efficiencies.
Success Qualities
Initiative & Ownership: You don't just identify a hurdle; you propose the mitigation strategy and own the outcome.
Strategic Time Management: You can juggle multiple concurrent projects without losing sight of high-value outcomes.
Network Building: You enjoy nurturing internal relationships across all levels of the organization—from field service associates to executive leadership.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a project management role.
Technical Literacy: Highly "tech-savvy" with proficiency in Smartsheet, Google Workspace, and AI tools like Gemini.
Education/Certs: Bachelor’s degree preferred; PMP or CAPM certification is a significant plus.
Travel: Willingness to travel approximately 10% for site launches, training, or project kickoffs.
License: A valid Driver's License is required.
