How You'll Make an Impact
As a Manufacturing Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring your assigned production cell consistently meets customer demand, production schedules, and quality expectations. You will lead by example on the production floor, providing hands-on support while developing team capabilities, maintaining compliance, and driving operational efficiency. In this role, you will:

Supervise and support a team of 4+ manufacturing operators.
- Share continual responsibility for determining how to manage assigned team-members (and temporary personnel), ensuring day to day activities are professional and respectful.
- Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirement at the company and provide training and guidance to assigned personnel to ensure overall compliance to the quality system and the safety guidelines which will result in a safe and clean working environment.
- Lead by setting a good example (role model).
- Be responsible for all operations/product produced in assigned production cell.
- Work with Manufacturing Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager and other Manufacturing Leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule is met.
- Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort.
- Mentor and motivate team members, ensuring individual and group productivity are maximized
- Maintain a clean and organized work cell to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Report problems or concerns with Quality, Processes, Equipment, Material and personnel to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with assigned team-members and the Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Be responsible for proper man loading on a daily/weekly/monthly schedule.
- Ensure accurate documentation and ownership of work completed by yourself and team members
- Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned cell. Must show proficiency in the operation of all equipment located in assigned production cell.
- Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance.
- Complete lot acceptance activities for assigned production team cell (QOP-0004 minimum).
- Participate as an active member of the production cell team and assemble/inspect products as required.
- Participate in the interview of new personnel process.
- Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed, understood, and meet all quality requirements, as well as are current released revision, this includes MOP/SOP/QOP, drawings/specifications and WOR’s as required.
- Provide feedback and input to Manufacturing Supervisor on employee performance and any disciplinary issues
- Work as a leader of special or ongoing projects that are critical to the assigned cell as improvements or AER/CAPA activities.
- Provide the team with a vision of the project/team objectives (road map).
- Facilitate problem solving and collaboration within assigned team and with internal customer/departments while striving for consensus.
- Familiarize the team with customer needs, specifications, design standard, techniques and tools to support task performance.
- Ensure the team addresses all relevant issues within the specifications and various standards which may have the possibility contributing to process improvements.
- Identify capacity constraints for equipment/personnel for assigned products – provide possible solutions.
- Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance.
- Provide statistical and performance feedback/coaching on a regular basis to each team member.
- Disciplinary issues are identified and documented/communicated to the Manufacturing Supervisor and notification is per company policy/guidelines.
- Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding production cell or team member issues/concerns.
- Coach and develop team members professional development.
- Be responsible for team-members performance, attendance, yields, and management of OT and conducting performance evaluations and assisting assigned team-members with a career path.
- Participate in Sales planning project.
- Provide customer commitments and updates to customer service to ensure on time delivery, Commits will be within 3 business day of receipt of customer order.
- Develop, present to Manufacturing Supervisor/Manufacturing Manager a succession plan, and implement/report on status once approved.
- Train Manufacturing Operators as required.
- Identifiy lean and process improvements, regardless of project manager.
- Provide weekly yield reporting which includes analysis of the trends, identification of changes to process that either positively or negatively affect overall yield goals.
- Submit feedback for Performance Evaluations (Training and participating presenting team-member annual performance reviews).
- Assist to correct inadequate behaviors and resolve personnel disputes.
- Provide MRP – and QAD, including Cycle counting concepts.
- Manage multiple product families with multiple processes (inspection, assembly, etc.) (planning, etc.).
- Participate in conversation with customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.

3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience, including team leadership responsibilities

Demonstrated experience leading teams in a production or manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of:
- Manufacturing processes and product flow
- Quality systems (including CAPA involvement)

Ability to:
- Read and interpret procedures, drawings, and specifications
- Train and develop manufacturing operators
- Analyze and solve problems effectively

Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

Proven organizational, time management, and planning abilities

Basic arithmetic proficiency

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)

Hands-on ability to work with tools and equipment in a production environment

Experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated environments
-
Familiarity with MRP systems (QAD preferred) and cycle counting
-
Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Exposure to multi-product or multi-process manufacturing environments
-
Experience participating in:
- CAPA and AER activities
- Customer interactions or production planning efforts
