How You’ll Make an Impact
As a student placement, you will be immersed in the discovery, formulation and applications testing of new and existing products. You will play a pivotal role in the development of novel chemistries designed for Home Care applications, such as laundry detergents, automatic dishwash formulations and hard surface cleaners. This hands-on placement offers exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from discovery and formulation to application testing, providing a comprehensive understanding of product development in a commercial context.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the discovery, formulation, and application testing of new and existing Home Care products.
- Support the development of formulations for laundry detergents, automatic dishwash, and hard surface cleaners.
- Assist in laboratory-based formulation and performance testing activities.
- Gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to commercial application.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative chemistry solutions.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to data analysis and reporting.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
- Currently enrolled in a science-related degree programme, degree focus in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Materials Science.
- Completed at least two years of undergraduate study and working towards a 2:1 or above.
- Demonstrated laboratory experience gained through academic or previous placements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and scientific integrity.
- Eligibility to work in the UK for the full duration of the placement.
Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward
- Degree focus in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Materials Science.
- Interest in applying academic knowledge in an industrial setting.
