What you’ll be doing
Responsible for preparing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality engineering proposals to Ofgem. This includes projects outside price control baselines or volume drivers, such as complex load-related connections, major capital projects (£100m+), and sensitive Critical National Infrastructure works. Ensures submissions are accurate, compliant, and clearly justified.
Develop and coordinate engineering proposals aligned with Ofgem regulatory requirements.
Ensure all submissions meet internal governance standards and are supported by robust engineering, cost, and risk justification.
Review and challenge designs, cost estimates, and project data to ensure accurate and defensible proposals.
Collaborate across teams to secure timely inputs and deliver submissions to agreed deadlines.
Support efficient project development, minimising technical, commercial, and regulatory risks.
Drive continuous improvement of processes and documentation.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Strong experience in a technical or commercial engineering role.
Knowledge of transmission engineering systems (LV–400kV), such as switchgear, transformers, cables, overhead lines, or protection & control.
Expertise in regulatory submissions, price controls, and engineering justification (including cost and volume reporting).
Understanding of GB network standards (NETS SQSS, Grid Code) and transmission network operations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to simplify complex technical information.
Proven ability to collaborate, influence stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outputs.
Minimum Requirements
Degree qualified.
Strong knowledge of the transmission network and its technical challenges.
Experience in engineering justification and stakeholder management.
Ability to produce clear, concise reports for both technical and non-technical audiences
