12 month fixed-term opportunity, salary ranging from $152,045 - $160, 430 + 17% superannuation
Solve by Talent is partnering with the University of Sydney to recruit a Commercial and Contracts Specialist within Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
This role will contribute to the delivery of ICT vendor, procurement and contract management services that support one of Australia’s leading universities across education, research and operations.

The opportunity
As Commercial and Contracts Specialist, you will provide commercial, procurement and contract management support for ICT vendor engagements. You will help establish, negotiate, review and manage vendor contracts, support sourcing activity, assess commercial and legal risk, and work with stakeholders to secure outcomes that deliver value for the University.
What you’ll do
Support ICT sourcing, procurement and vendor strategy activity, including vendor selection, negotiation and procurement opportunities.
Provide contract negotiation, mediation and advice across ICT vendor engagements, including review of contracts, agreements, terms and obligations.
Assess vendor, contract and tender risk, providing guidance to minimise commercial and legal exposure.
Build strong relationships with ICT stakeholders, vendors, Legal, Finance and other internal teams to support effective commercial outcomes.
Monitor vendor performance, SLAs, contract registers, issue resolution and opportunities for continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
Experience developing and implementing vendor management, sourcing and/or procurement strategies and plans.
Significant experience negotiating, establishing and managing large-value ICT contracts.
Demonstrated capability in vendor mediation, issue resolution, risk assessment and SLA management.
Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills across complex environments.
Experience in vendor management within a government and/or education sector environment, with tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Business or equivalent experience.
