Pay Range: $15 - $25 per hour
The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for teaching group exercise to members, providing a variety of exercise options for the fitness program. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Greater Montgomery is responsible for modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Meeting and assessing new members for fitness needs and providing a safe and effective program to meet those needs.
- Leading group exercise classes with appropriate verbal instructions and clear patterns of movement.
- Providing instructions for participants on taking their heart rate and when to decrease the intensity of the workout for their safety.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Group Exercise Instructor certification
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Group Exercise Instructor certification
Current CPR, First Aid, AED or within 30 days
