
Automation and Mechatronics Engineer
Job Description
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Automation and Mechatronics Engineer to design, develop, optimize, and support automated systems and mechatronic solutions used in our production facility. The ideal candidate will have a background in robotics, control systems, and electromechanical systems, with a passion for creating efficient, reliable, and cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
- Develop and implement automation systems, robotics, and mechatronic devices for manufacturing and production processes.
- Design and prototype electromechanical components, including sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechatronic solutions into existing systems.
System Integration:
- Integrate hardware and software components for seamless system operation.
- Develop PLC, HMI, and robotic programming for automated processes.
- Optimize systems for performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
Testing and Optimization:
- Conduct testing, calibration, and validation of automation and mechatronics systems.
- Analyze system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliable operation.
- Continuously improve designs based on performance data and feedback.
- Upper-level support of existing systems when first level of support can’t find root cause of issues.
Project Management:
- Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Document designs, processes, and test results for internal use.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
Maintenance and Support:
- Provide technical support and training for process engineering teams and operators.
- Maintain and upgrade existing automation and mechatronics systems.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing automation or mechatronic systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming, robotics, and control systems.
- Proficiency with ABB, Universal Robotics (UR) Cobots, and Epson Robot systems and similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Expertise in ABB vision systems and AI-based vision platforms for automation.
Familiarity with Asyril flexible feeder systems is an added advantage.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, or LabVIEW.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus).
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.
