Position: Heavy Equipment Electromechanic
We are seeking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Electromechanic to join our team in Angovia (Ivory Coast).
Operational Responsibilities
Perform electrical inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and auxiliary systems.
Install, test, and maintain wiring, control systems, and lighting circuits.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on starters, alternators, batteries, and harnesses.
Conduct preventive maintenance and record all findings and repairs.
Ensure electrical components comply with OEM specifications and safety standards.
Inspect, maintain, and repair air conditioning systems on heavy and light earthmoving equipment (e.g., dump trucks, excavators, graders, light vehicles).
Diagnose electrical faults related to HVAC systems, including compressors, blowers, thermostats, and control panels.
Assist mechanics and other trades in troubleshooting multi-disciplinary issues.
Maintain electrical tools, testing devices, and work area in good condition.
Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on equipment condition and performance.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
Take care of and properly use assigned tools and equipment.
Attend daily pre-start meetings and safety briefings.
Safety Responsibilities
Comply with all company Safety Policies and Procedures.
Immediately report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
Ensure that work is performed in accordance with site safety standards and procedures.
Perform electrical isolation and lock-out/tag-out before commencing work.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure subordinates do the same.
Environmental Responsibilities
Comply with EPSA's Environmental Best Practices.
Ensure proper treatment and disposal of maintenance-generated waste.
Comply with environmental regulations and internal procedures for hazardous materials handling.
Qualifications
Vocational Training in in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Electricity.
Minimum 5 years of practical experience with heavy equipment or industrial electrical systems.
Other requirements
Experience with diagnostic tools and fault-finding on heavy earthmoving machinery.
Additional safety training (First Aid, Fire Fighting, HIRA, or similar).
Valid defensive driving certificate (if operating or moving light/heavy vehicles).
Familiarity with PLCs or control systems used in mining equipment (an advantage).
Proven experience working in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
Knowledge of maintenance planning systems or CMMS (e.g., SAP, Pragma, etc.).
