Description
As a Garage Tyre Technician within F1 Evolution, you will play a key role in the preparation, build, and operational delivery of TPC and Demo Events, ensuring the highest standards of safety, presentation, and operational performance at every event. Supporting the Chief Garage Technician, you will work across garage builds, wheel and tyre preparation, and on-event tyre and blanket management, helping to ensure cars and equipment are delivered to the highest possible standard.
Working within a small, agile operational team, you will also support the planning and execution of road and air freight logistics, as well as the servicing and rebuild of garage and pit equipment outside of the event calendar. This is a hands-on role requiring regular travel, strong attention to detail, and a disciplined, collaborative approach in a fast-paced motorsport environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build garages for F1 Evolution events (TPC/Demo) and prepare AMR vehicles and work areas as required
- Maintain high standards of garage presentation throughout all events
- Manage Pirelli tyres before and during TPC and Demo Events in conjunction with the F1 Evolution Engineering Department and No. 1 Mechanic
- Prepare wheel rims and associated hardware for TPC and Demo Events
- Communicate effectively, adhere to radio protocols, and maintain strong communication with the Chief Engineer, Race Engineer, and No. 1 Mechanic
- Support the planning, organisation, and execution of garage pack-downs
- Adhere to the team event schedule and ensure operational readiness for all sessions
- Drive AMR company vehicles to and from events safely and professionally as required
- Carry out winter freight activities and garage/pit equipment servicing and rebuilds as instructed by the Chief Garage Technician
- Support the safe and secure transportation of all equipment by road and air, including shipment preparation
- Report all safety and technical issues to the Chief Garage Technician and maintain a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety regulations
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Valid UK Driving Licence (essential)
- HGV Class 1 Licence (preferred)
- Previous experience as a Garage Tyre Technician within a professional motorsport team (essential)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal departments and external suppliers
- Self-motivated, with the ability to motivate others and thrive in a challenging environment
- Ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales
- Strong written, verbal, and organisational skills
- Innovative and methodical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work through challenges effectively
- Results-driven, confident in decision-making, and able to work effectively within a small team in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work varied hours and travel internationally as required
- Enthusiastic, versatile, and able to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues
