Job Responsibilities:

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
Immediate, Open Position

The Maintenance Systems Planner is required to maximize operating profit through planned maintenance activities and maximize equipment operational availability through implementing effective planning methods, while maintaining TS/ISO and trade equivalent standards. This is accomplished by scheduling, tracking and evaluating preventative maintenance to plant equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Certificate of Qualification in a designated skilled trade and/or completion of post-secondary education related to engineering or mechanical technology   

2. 3-5 years of automotive assembly experience an asset

3. Prior planning and scheduling experience combined with excellent organizational skills

4. Experience using CMS and / or CMMS preferred and be proficient in using Microsoft Excel

5. Highly analytical in nature, able to interpret, manipulate, and present data using exceptional computer skills

6. Solid foundation and understanding of equipment reliability concepts

7. Basic understanding of engineering practices, functions and calculations. Able to read/interpret drawings

8. Practical knowledge of risk management strategies and practices related to plant and equipment
9. Able to work in conjunction with skilled trades persons

10. Able to interpret preventative maintenance feedback and use this feedback to develop and implement action plans that improve our preventative maintenance programs

11. Previous leadership experience is an asset

DUTIES:

1. Manage maintenance data collection and information gathering by analysing data for improvements to equipment. Generates monthly reports highlighting issues

2. Participates in the implementation of preventative maintenance applications and software

3. Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process. Ensures the execution of all tasks as planned and re-plans as required.

4. Constantly revalidates the time requirements of each task, ensures cost to complete are captured and documented.

5. Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work. Work with production scheduling to schedule downtime to complete in-week and weekend PM’s that provide the most effective production and maintenance outcomes.

6. Monitor PM completeness and schedule/reschedule accordingly to achieve 100% completion

7. Purchase all necessary parts, equipment, services and documentation to perform the maintenance work.

8. Attend and participate in project review meetings, assist in departments long-term planning strategies

9. At least quarterly review of completed PM’s and inventory with an emphasis on reducing inventory while ensuring the right parts are available when needed.

10. Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality.

11. Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and records database.

12. Responsible for the CMS/E-Maintenance CMMS work order data base and data integrity, keeping files/logs of the equipment and tooling preventative and corrective maintenance.

13. Schedules weekly Preventative Maintenance work orders (cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, inspections, small and large repairs).

14. Coordinates data and produces reports required daily, weekly and monthly by the Technical Supervisor, Maintenance Area Leader.

15. Facilitates in the scheduling of, and participates in, shift crossover meetings.

16. Ensure Key Performance Indicators are documented and reported for maintenance department performances, equipment reliability, maintenance department planning and budgeting.

17. Facilitates and participates in the weekly team meetings where KPI’s, action item status, and maintenance performance is reviewed, and actions planned.

18. Participates in scheduled meetings for long range asset planning.

19. Coordinates and plans work orders for internal operations and identifies material for purchase/requisition.

20. Works in conjunction with the E-maintenance administrator to develop and issue all required data and reports supporting the department and the company’s requirements
