DPS Crew Member

The seasonal crew member will be supervised by the Assistant DPW Director. The position completes a variety of tasks associated with day-to-day maintenance of Township properties. 

Responsibilities include by are not limited to:

• Completing a variety of public works tasks associated with the day-to-day maintenance of Township properties, infrastructure, and facilities.
• Water stop box locating, water mainline valve exercising, sewer manhole locating and inspecting, sewer cleaning, sewer televising, infrastructure repair, building and grounds maintenance.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Applicant/Requirement Skills:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given. 
• Must have experience operating pickup trucks, hand tools, power tools, shovels, and rakes and must possess friendly, courteous, and cooperative customer service skills.
• Successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and a background check. 
• Possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s license. 
• Must be 18 years or older. 
• Wear prescribed uniform, identification, and PPE. 

Physical Demands:

• Employee must possess the physical requirements to perform the activities listed above.
• Employee must be physically able to stand, walk, and/or sit for a period of time.
• Employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. comfortably.
