Job Description

Grand Blanc Township is seeking a motivated and professional intern to join our team for the summer. This position offers a unique, hands on opportunity to gain experience across multiple township departments while contributing to meaningful community initiatives.

This position will play an active role in daily operations, special projects, and community engagement efforts. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in local government, public administration, communications, or event planning.

This position is expected to work up to 40 hours per week from May through August (able to work around university schedule).


  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of township events and programs
  • Collaborate with various township departments on projects and initiatives to gain a broad understanding of municipal operations
  • Assist the Community Engagement team by helping cover events, programs, and outreach efforts
  • Conduct outreach to local businesses, organizations, and residents to gather feedback and build community relationships
  • Assist with creating flyers, graphics, and other outreach materials
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university program in public administration, communications, political science, event planning, marketing, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and community partners
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with social media platforms
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends for events
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
