Oracle Developer/Middleware Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for an Oracle Developer & Middleware Engineer to support mission‑critical Oracle applications in a 24/7 multi‑customer environment. You will work with PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms, ORDS, WebLogic and OSB to ensure reliable integrations, stable performance and smooth deployments, collaborating closely with the Oracle DBA team in a highly industrialized production setting.
Responsibilities:
Design and evolve Oracle architectures — Shape PL/SQL, APEX, Forms, ORDS, WebLogic and OSB components, ensuring robust integration and scalable designs;
Perform advanced L3 troubleshooting — Resolve complex application, middleware and SQL issues through deep‑dive analysis and cross‑team collaboration;
Optimize performance — Improve response times and reliability through SQL tuning, PL/SQL optimization, indexing strategies and workload analysis;
Ensure HA/DR readiness — Align applications and middleware with Data Guard, RAC, failover and recovery requirements;
Lead major changes — Drive upgrades, migrations, deployments and modernization initiatives with safe rollback and controlled execution;
Support on‑call operations — Intervene in critical incidents to restore service quickly in a 24/7 production environment;
Automate and industrialize — Build scripts and tools to streamline deployments, configuration, testing and recurring operational tasks;
Apply secure development practices — Enforce strong authentication, authorization, encryption and auditing across all Oracle components;
Document and share expertise — Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to team knowledge and mentoring.
- 5–10+ years working with PL/SQL, SQL, APEX, Forms, ORDS, WebLogic and OSB in business‑critical environments;
Strong understanding of Oracle middleware runtime behavior, deployments, APIs and integration flows;
Multi‑customer experience (Background in MSP, outsourcing or shared‑service environments is highly valued);
Familiarity with schemas, grants, transactions, locking, Data Guard/RAC constraints and backup/recovery implications;
Performance tuning capability (skilled in execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, statistics, bind variables and diagnosing SQL/PLSQL performance issues);
Ability to interpret AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Monitor and correlate application/middleware behavior with DB, WebLogic, ORDS and OSB metrics;
Experience with controlled deployments, rollback scripts, data migrations and environment promotion;
Linux and runtime troubleshooting (comfortable with AIX/RHEL environments, shell scripting, log analysis and runtime investigation);
Knowledge of WebLogic domains, managed servers, JDBC data sources, OSB flows and ORDS runtime behavior;
Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, SQL Developer, SQLcl, APEX export/import, Forms and ORDS deployment automation;
Analytical, calm under pressure and collaborative in multi‑team environments as well as strong written and verbal communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders;
English required; French or Dutch are a plus.
