JOB TITLE: Limited X-Ray Technologist
ORGANIZATIONAL MISSION: The mission of Mid-State Health Center is to provide sound primary care to the community, accessible to all regardless of their ability to pay.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: he Radiology X-ray Operator is responsible for performing specific diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment. This position requires a NH license for performing X-ray exams and the ability to provide compassionate patient care. The X-Ray Tech is responsible for performing and sending exams to Radiologist in a timely manner as well as work with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality imaging services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and SCOPE OF PRACTICE:
- Operate x-ray machines to capture images of limited body areas as credentialed
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, including explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
- Ensure proper shielding and radiation safety measures for patients and self.
- Process and label x-ray images accurately for physician review.
- Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Follow all regulatory and facility-specific protocols for imaging and patient confidentiality.
- Assist in maintaining patient records and documentation.
- Support clinical staff with other duties such as patient intake, vital signs, or administrative tasks, if required.
- Other duties as assigned.
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position.
EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of a Limited X-Ray Technologist course.
LICENSE/ CERTIFICATION:
- Certificate
- State Licensure as required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience preferred, but new graduates with clinical training will be considered.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate X-ray equipment and evaluate images.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May require prolonged periods of standing, reaching and bending to move patients and heavy equipment.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed in an outpatient imaging center environment.
- Exposure to radiation and infectious diseases, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Variable work hours on weekends.
- May require standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility.
- Must adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment as required.
- Work is performed in a professional office environment.
- Involves frequent telephone contact and interaction with others.
- May involve contact with sick people.
