2026-06-30JOB PURPOSE:
Future Health Leaders is a residential precollege summer program for high school students interested in health and healing. It takes place on Lewis & Clark’s campus from June 21-26, 2026.
The program is run by Lewis & Clark’s Center for Community and Global Health.
High school students enrolled in Future Health Leaders will participate in a mini-med school, explore research labs at L&C, train in health-related skills such as CPR, earn and receive Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and be introduced to a range of health care professionals and techniques, public health communications, and the practice of narrative medicine.
This position is for a current LC student to provide administrative and programmatic support during the month of June. This role will work closely with the Center for Community and Global Health staff to prepare for and host a great camp experience. Last year, it was really fun!
PREREQUISITES FOR ELIGIBILITY
A preference for an applicant who is a Health Studies Minor and/or who is hoping to pursue a career in healthcare.
Preference for an applicant who is a rising Third or Fourth Year student at Lewis & Clark College.
This work takes place in-person on the Lewis & Clark College campus. Applicants must be available to work on campus June 16-26.
An ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those whose stories are undertold in healthcare institutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Future Health Leaders: summer pre-college program support Including: materials prep, event/classroom coordination, welcoming new students to campus, and troubleshooting issues and answering questions as they arise.
Work with a small team to supporting FHL up to and through the program week including Alexis Rehrmann, FHL summer camp director, LC student RAs and dorm counselors, and LC alumns:
Other tasks as assigned.
SCHEDULE:
Week beginning Monday, June 8
- Student Support Staff Kick off meetings/ flexible hours
- Week beginning Monday June 15
- Mon-Thurs 10:00-2:00 student support staff work time.
- Week beginning Sunday, June 21
- Student support staff work full time, 8:30-4:30
- NOTE: If you are enrolled in summer courses, we can discuss working around your academic schedule.

Eligibility to Work
