JOB PURPOSE:

The Student Coordinator positions will take a lead role in planning and coordinating events, activities, materials, and presentations about transformative and restorative justice topics, trends, and efforts at the College. In close collaboration with the other Student Coordinators, and under the direction of the Office of Equity and Inclusion, this role will support student and institutional efforts to increase awareness, interest, and engagement with topics and themes of equity, inclusion, restorative and transformative justice-as they apply to College programs, activities, academics, and people.

PREREQUISITES FOR ELIGIBILITY:

  • Resume, uploaded

    • Access to internet and to a computer that allows for Zoom video meetings

    • Respond to email within 72 hours, Monday-Friday, as you are able

    • Familiar with graphic design and content creation 

    • Writing skills: communicating to a campus audience 

    • Comfort sending emails and reaching out to people one might not know

    • Values equity and inclusion at Lewis & Clark and in the greater Portland community

    • Can work collaboratively and independently

    • Committed to confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the OEI office’s work

    • Is not currently involved (and has not previously been involved) in a formal Title IX process, in order to maintain neutrality for the office

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Plan and coordinate event(s), workshops, and/or other forms of engagement around transformative and restorative justice, under supervision of the Assistant Dean, Title IX and Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator and/or the Operations Manager for the Office of Equity & Inclusion;

    • Support planning of events for the upcoming academic year

  • Collaborate with the OEI team, including other OEI Student Marketing Coordinator, with advertising work of OEI, Coordinators, BART, Title IX, etc. 

    • Brainstorm and creating content for social media

    • Update and develop communication and presentation materials

    • Brainstorm and design new ways to communicate content, with an eye toward accessibility; 

  • Collaborate with student organizations (including ASB/EIJC, affinity groups, etc.) and campus partners for planning events and programming goals; 

  • Build and develop relationships with student organizations and campus partners around events;

  • Assist the Office of Equity & Inclusion with planning how transformative and restorative justice efforts can supplement and improve our current incident reporting system and response efforts for both Bias and Title IX processes;

  • Other duties as assigned or identified

RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS DIVERSITY:

  • Ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those who are underrepresented in the country and/or at Lewis & Clark College.

SCHEDULE:

  • Up to 10 hours a week

RATE OF PAY:

  • $16.80 per hour (beginning June 1, 2026)

  • No work study requirement

    Eligibility to Work

Failure to have a completed I-9 form on file with the College will result in immediate termination of employment.
