Job Description

The Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Surveying is seeking applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor, full-time, tenure- track in Mechatronics Engineering, with a focus on robotics, electromechanical systems, robotic systems integration, vision systems, autonomous systems, collaborative robotics, sensors and actuators, network security systems, and advanced data acquisition systems. Exceptional candidates in closely related areas or at the rank of Associate Professor may be considered. Review of Applications will begin October 30, with a start date of January 2026 or August 2026.

The department is interdisciplinary, and the candidate may be required to support classes in other engineering and engineering technology areas as needed. The position will be a nine-month full-time position and report to the department chair.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering or one of the following related engineering areas: Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Robotics. The Ph.D. candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of teaching or industrial experience in areas related to the job description

     OR

  • M.S. in Mechatronics Engineering or in one of the related engineering areas: Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Robotics. The M.S. candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of teaching or industrial experience in areas related to the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience and training in teaching and curriculum design in engineering areas.
  • Successful grant application and funded research in the job description areas listed above.
  • Industrial experience in engineering, sciences, and technology industries in the job description areas listed above.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary and collaborative industrial or research projects, as well as with managing large, multi-year research projects or industrial projects.
  • Experience working with industry and community partners for research projects.
  • Team, lab, and facility management experience, including but not limited to safety, supervision, and procurement.
  • Successful Publication History - history of presentations and technical publications in the areas listed in the job description.
