Assistant Vice President – Trading Technology

Role Summary
Jefferies is seeking an Assistant Vice President with strong hands‑on experience in trading platforms, market data systems, and production environments within an investment bank. The role requires deep expertise in ION MarketView, electronic trading protocols, and modern automation and monitoring ecosystems, with direct exposure to live banking systems.
This is a hands‑on technical role, suited for candidates comfortable operating in production‑critical trading environments.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Trading Platforms & Market Data
Extensive hands‑on experience with ION MarketView, including:
MMI
Connectivity gateways
Reference Data systems
Pricing systems
Extensive experience working in Banks’ Production environments, including release support and incident analysis
Trading Systems & Protocols
Strong experience testing trading solutions for investment banks
Hands‑on experience with:
FIX protocol
Market APIs
Solid understanding of electronic trading flows and trade lifecycle
Data & Backend
Strong hands‑on experience with SQL
Good understanding of RDBMS for data validation and troubleshooting
Scripting & Automation
Hands‑on experience with:
Python
Bash / Shell scripting
AI / ML Exposure
Hands‑on experience working with ML models, including training and validation of AI models
Good‑to‑Have Skills
Experience integrating trading platforms with monitoring and alerting systems, such as:
Zabbix, Geneos, Nagios
Exposure to AWS
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
Professional Expectations
Strong ownership and accountability expected at AVP level
Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure, production environments
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Proven experience collaborating with traders, technology, and infrastructure teams
