Field Service Technician

Komatsu is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician (FST) to support open-pit mining operations, with a strong focus on electric mining shovels and large gear case components. In this role you'll do a lot of 3G and 4G welding.

This role is ideal for technicians who have worked on shovels or drills, millwright (ball mills, crushers) or gear case–focused technicians who enjoys hands-on work in the field and wants to work on some of the largest equipment in the industry.

What You’ll Do

• Perform field service maintenance and repairs on electric mining shovels, primarily in open-pit mine environments
• Change and rebuild major shovel components, including large gear cases
• Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot complex equipment systems
• Work closely with mine site teams to ensure equipment uptime and safe operation
• Travel extensively to mine sites (AZ mostly, some NM and CA)
• Work hours are typically 12 hours daily, and a 6‑day-on schedule in the field
