Job Summary The Cargo Flight Operations Agent is a key member of the flight operations team, responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of cargo operations within the airline’s flight schedule
This role ensures the efficient, safe, and compliant handling of cargo from acceptance through to loading and unloading during flight operations
The specialist will work closely with cargo agents, flight crew, ground operations, and other departments to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of cargo
Additionally, the role involves engaging with customer service, servicing clients, and liaising with freight forwarders to ensure a seamless cargo experience
Your activities Coordinate and support daily cargo operations for scheduled flights
Process and maintain cargo documentation, including air waybills, manifests, customs documentation, and shipment records
Track and coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing
Monitor flight schedules and communicate operational changes, delays, or disruptions to relevant stakeholders
Liaise with customers, freight forwarders, flight crews, ground handlers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth cargo operations
Ensure compliance with company procedures, aviation regulations, safety standards, and security requirements
Support cargo acceptance processes, including documentation checks and shipment verification
Assist in resolving cargo discrepancies, delays, damaged freight, and misrouted shipments
Monitor cargo volumes and assist with resource planning to meet operational requirements
Maintain accurate operational records and prepare reports as required
Support the handling and processing of dangerous goods and special cargo in accordance with regulatory requirements
Promote a positive safety culture through adherence to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards and reporting procedures
Follow all Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational policies
Your profile You are an organised, detail-oriented professional with strong administrative and coordination skills
You thrive in fast-paced environments where accuracy, efficiency, and clear communication are key
You bring a proactive approach to managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate records, and supporting team operations to ensure smooth day-to-day performance
In particular, you demonstrate: Strong organisational and administrative abilities, including data entry, document management, scheduling, and record-keeping Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently across teams and external stakeholders Competence in using computer systems, Microsoft Office applications, and digital databases for reporting and documentation A professional, reliable, and flexible approach to work, with a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning The following skills and experience would be an advantage: Experience with cargo management systems (in particular, Cargospot) and flight operations software Experience in Import and Export Air Cargo handling and administration Knowledge of aviation or logistics operations, including OH&S and compliance processes Holding (or willingness to obtain) IATA Dangerous Goods Air certification to complete dangerous goods checks and sign off approvals/rejections Familiarity with quality assurance and safety management systems You lead and contribute to a culture that values equality, fairness, transparency, and zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination, or harassment
