Principal Accountabilities:

  • Perform quality control analyses to verify the quality of manufactured polymers in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform quality control analyses to verify the quality of raw materials and in-process parameters for pre-polymerization intermediates.
  • Perform laboratory calculations to adjust finished and in-process product characteristics within the required specification range.
  • Record quality data and any adjustment activities accurately and completely in both written and electronic formats using laboratory notebooks and the SAP database.
  • Participate in investigations of non-conforming products and communicate required quality results and observations to Process Chemistry and Operations teams.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and weekly safety meetings.
  • Maintain the accuracy of analytical equipment by performing routine calibrations once per shift.
  • Restock laboratory supplies and chemicals and assist with inventory management.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work area through daily housekeeping and weekly inspection activities.
  • Manage all chemicals and waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) in accordance with RCRA regulations and OSHA Hazard Communication Standards.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, moisture balance, T90 titrator, KF titrator, refractometer, pH meter, bulk viscometer, and centrifuge.
  • Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.

Physical Work Environment and Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and sit in a laboratory environment.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform key testing procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $52,760.00 and $77,374.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
