The Metering Operations team plays a crucial role in the reliability and quality of gas metering at Fluxys Belgium

From border stations and storage facilities to end users and the LNG terminal, our experts ensure accurate, secure and compliant metering data every single day

Our Metering & Laboratory Department in Anderlecht is looking for a driven and people-oriented Metering Operations Manager (m/f/x).

You will ensure metering reliability and compliance in the Fluxys network by managing inspection and maintenance activities, coaching a team of inspectors and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

• You will lead and coach a team of 15 metering inspectors operating throughout Belgium, coordinating their activities and assisting them with your technical expertise
• You will act as the technical manager for the Metering & Laboratory Department's ISO 17020 accreditation
• You will ensure the quality, accuracy and timely availability of metering data for internal stakeholders
• You will oversee preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections and ensure that they are carried out efficiently
• You will ensure the swift analysis and permanent resolution of any technical incidents
• You will adhere strictly to legal and contractual requirements and safeguard in-house knowledge of, and compliance with, such requirements
• Working methods and instructions 
• You will analyse and define clear working methods
• You will draw up clear and practical work instructions to ensure proper implementation
• Multi-year plan and contract management
• You will draw up a multi-year plan for the maintenance and calibration of our metering instruments to ensure that they always meet metrological requirements
• You will be responsible for drafting and managing the necessary contracts with external partners
• As a coach and people manager, you will foster development, motivation and collaboration within your team
• You will play an active role in strategic working groups focusing on the digitalisation of processes and tools and on the energy transition (development of H₂ and CO₂ networks), and you will support the implementation of these changes on the ground

• In-depth knowledge of metrology and metering processes
• You have at least five years' experience in technical facility management and data processing, including at least three years in a people management role
• You are experienced in managing teams remotely and have a good understanding of how an organisation such as Fluxys operates and the challenges it faces
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (such as ISO/IEC 17020/25) would be an advantage
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, work in a structured way and are results-oriented
• You are an inspiring leader with strong communication skills and a coaching style, who encourages collaboration, listening and coordination among stakeholders, and takes decisions where necessary; you also know how to be persuasive when required
• You work with precision and have a strong sense of responsibility, particularly regarding the reliability of critical data that is essential to operational continuity
• You feel at home in a digital environment featuring a wide range of ICT tools and processes
• You are fluent in Dutch and French and have a good knowledge of English
• You are willing to travel regularly within Belgium and hold a category B driving licence
