
Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic

The Service Technician is a skilled professional responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing all types of automotive problems. You'll be the heart of the service department, using your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure vehicles are running smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose vehicle malfunctions using diagnostic tools, inspections, and customer-reported symptoms
- Perform repairs across all vehicle systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and more -- to OEM specifications
- Test all repairs to confirm functionality and safety before vehicle return
- Document repairs and parts accurately on every service order
- Communicate technical issues to guests clearly and professionally
- Provide accurate estimates and timelines, and keep guests updated throughout the service visit
- Perform test drives to evaluate performance and confirm repair quality
- Research technical information and consult service manuals or colleagues to solve complex problems
- Recommend preventative maintenance services to guests
- Stay current on Mercedes-Benz technologies and repair procedures through ongoing training and certifications
- Maintain a clean, organized bay and adhere to all safety protocols
- Contribute to a positive and efficient service department
Qualifications:
- Demonstrating a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Service Technician or related automotive repair experience (some dealerships may accept less experience with relevant training and certifications).
- Completion of an automotive technician training program or equivalent experience.
- Possession of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications is a strong plus (specific certifications may vary depending on dealership).
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, reaching).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications a plus.
