Reports To: Director, LIFT (Leadership and Instructional Foundations for Texas)

Salary: This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position at 232 days, with a salary in the range of $88,887 - $97,397. This position will be funded as long as LASO funds are provided to LEAs by TEA. 

Job Summary (Primary Purpose): 

The Coordinator II for Leadership and Instructional Foundations for Texas (LIFT) provides ongoing support and skill-building opportunities to both internal and external clients. This position is responsible for growing internal systems and structures to train, support, and coach ESC LIFT District and Campus Coaches as well as support and grow regional LIFT efforts. The Leadership and Instructional Foundations for Texas (LIFT) Coordinator also builds strong relationships with district leaders to drive instructional leadership, HQIM planning, and implementation at the district level. They are responsible for working closely with the LIFT Leads (LLs) and to coach and/or coordinate both District Coaches (DCs) and Campus Coaches (CCs) to build and execute strategic district and campus level plans for Instructional Leadership practices and High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) planning and implementation. The LIFT Coordinator consistently provides direct, comprehensive, and ongoing support to superintendents, assistant superintendents, and other district leadership.

Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certificates): 

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Master's Degree in education or related field
  • Valid Texas Teacher certification

Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certificates):

  • Valid Texas Principal/Mid-Management Certification
  • At least three-years of experience as a principal, principal manager, TIL Lead, Strong Foundations Lead, senior experience consulting and/or capacity building in districts.
  • Campus or district administrative experience
  • Experience implementing Research Based Instructional Strategies
  • Prior experience planning and implementing HQIM and supporting district and campus leaders to implement HQIM.
  • Experience with long-term planning, tracking progress, analytical thinking, and conceptual thinking
  • Instructional coaching experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Coaching, modeling, and providing feedback on performance, with an emphasis on identifying challenges and problem-solving
  • Ability to lead professional development design and delivery
  • Experience creating highly engaging experiences for adult learners
  • Ability to use data collection and analysis in a way that leads to better understanding of challenges and provides solutions to those challenges
  • Willingness to set clear expectations and hold others accountable for performance
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with staff, clients, and external partners in a results-driven environment
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex learning to others

Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
  • Works with LIFT Lead to develop systems and processes to guide the work of ESC LIFT District and Campus Coaches
  • Provides implementation check-ins with District and Campus Coaches weekly, with coaching sessions happening as needed, at least monthly
  • In coordination with LIFT Lead, plans visits to districts receiving LIFT program support. These visits will also be used to calibrate on planning and implementation support from the grant team.
  • Participates and at times facilitate internal meetings with District and Campus Coaches and relevant stakeholders to ensure team alignment and ongoing professional development
  • Successfully completes all needed certifications and training of trainers sessions
  • Manages and is responsible for the LEA leadership and team experience
  • Ensures that all grant activities are in alignment with what the districts need and what they are required to complete
  • Serves as the main support and coach for District and Campus Coaches and when needed step in directly to support district and campus leaders to work through challenges or concerns
  • Responsible for coordinating support at each level of stakeholder within the LEA
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to streamline support for School Improvement campuses as needed
  • Responsible for the content, skill development, and expertise of the District and Campus Coach roles. Works with them directly and oversee their support and interactions with their district and campus team as needed
  • Supports the collection and analysis of data and metrics aligned to program success
  • Makes targeted planning adjustments to ensure that districts receive customized support that is aligned to successful grant outcomes, fidelity of implementation for HQIM implementation and district and campus leadership systems
  • Supports data and artifact collection and submission
  • Supports and leverage a community of learning by actively participating in up-front and ongoing training and support, TEA focus groups, and consistent coaching connections with their LIFT Lead
  • Leads appropriate up-front training for District and Campus Coaches, campus leadership teams and/or teachers
  • Establishes and maintains strong, positive relationships with campus leadership teams and teachers to successfully support change management, grant and program activities
  • Works in collaboration with other ESC staff to deliver cohesive customer support
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises staff, including hiring, scheduling and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommending reclassifications or terminations.
  • This position will also coach, mentor, and train employees as needed.

Budget Responsibilities:

  • Maintains assigned department budgets
  • Works with the Department Budget Specialist to develop and manage both local budgets and grant associated budgets
  • Monitors program and/or grant guidelines/expenditures/requirements
  • Provides regular updates to the LIFT Director around the assigned department budgets
