Pay: $60,000 – $70,000

Position Overview

Rx relief is seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Facility Maintenance Specialist to oversee the operational integrity of our partner's compounding pharmacy. In this critical role, you will be the guardian of our controlled environments, ensuring that all laboratory equipment and facility systems operate at peak performance. Your primary mission is to maintain a seamless workflow for their sterile compounding team by strictly adhering to USP <797> and USP <800> standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Cleanroom & Sterile Suite Integrity: Execute rigorous sanitization protocols for cleanrooms, laminar airflow workbenches (LAFWs), and biological safety cabinets (BSCs) to ensure an aseptic environment.

  • Precision Equipment Care: Manage the upkeep and calibration of specialized pharmacy tools, including balances, mixers, and labeling systems.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Generate and manage comprehensive logs for all maintenance and calibration cycles. Ensure all records are "audit-ready."

  • Preventative Infrastructure Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems and environmental monitoring sensors. Perform proactive tasks such as belt replacements and filter rotations.

  • General Facility Support: Address minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry needs (drywall repair, painting, furniture reconfiguration).

  • Logistics & Supply Coordination: Partner with the supply chain team to maintain optimal inventory levels of PPE and sterile cleaning agents.

  • Emergency Response: Serve as a key responder for facility-related emergencies (e.g., power fluctuations or HVAC failures).

  • Aseptic Protocol Knowledge: Understanding of sterile processing and ISO-rated environments.

  • Regulatory Literacy: Working knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> guidelines.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: High mechanical aptitude for diagnosing issues in HVAC or building automation systems.

  • Precision & Detail: Uncompromising commitment to accuracy in documentation.


Position Requirements

Applicants must meet all the following criteria to be eligible for hire:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with power tools and a solid understanding of basic building trades (plumbing, electrical).

  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate material-handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).

  • Physical Ability: Comfort working in full PPE and performing tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting.

  • Experience: Previous background in a healthcare, laboratory, or pharmacy setting is highly preferred.
  • Regulatory Literacy: Working knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in HVAC-R or Industrial Instrumentation.

  • Direct experience supporting a USP-compliant compounding facility.
