Description
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up and operate a wide range of polymer-based 3D printing technologies, including SLA, FDM, SLS and DLP, ensuring optimal machine performance and print quality at all times.
- Perform machine calibrations, preventative maintenance and routine servicing in line with established schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
- Operate and maintain additive manufacturing equipment in a methodical, structured and highly organised manner, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
- Efficiently post-process polymer models and full-size components, including cleaning, finishing, inspection and preparation for downstream use.
- Monitor, manage and report stock levels of polymer materials, consumables and spare parts to support uninterrupted production.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across systems, workflows and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality and performance.
- Execute production plans effectively to meet demanding and time-critical motorsport deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality, accuracy and reliability across all stages of the additive manufacturing process.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining clear and effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Provide flexible support across the department and assist with additional manufacturing or operational activities when required.
- Remain calm and focused while working under pressure to meet tight production schedules and rapidly changing priorities.
- Contribute to a safe, clean and organised working environment, ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven hands-on experience programming, setting up and operating multiple polymer-based 3D printing technologies within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous experience within Formula One or a high-performance motorsport additive manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
- Strong practical experience in post-processing 3D printed components, with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes and dimensional accuracy.
- Good understanding of machine calibration, preventative maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
- A highly methodical and detail-oriented approach, with a strong commitment to precision and quality.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive and positive in approach, with a willingness to support the wider team wherever required.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Adaptable and solutions-focused, with the ability to learn new technologies, systems and processes quickly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a calm and professional approach.
