What’s the role?
Initiate, plan, coordinate, and execute projects that will result in the seamless and efficient delivery of service to B2B customers. Lead operations and technical teams, as well as multifunctional local and regional service teams for implementation. Additionally, the person will have the responsibility to lead teams incorporating customers and third-party system integrators. Maintain Project Management Knowledge and Tool Centre.
What You'll Do
Create project charter, stakeholder reports, communication and reporting plan
- Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals, from initial development through implementation.
- Facilitate communication with leadership and other key stakeholders, including regular reports and progress meetings.
- Maintain standards and tools for portfolio and project management, with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget, and within the scope.
- Create the project charter, ensuring customer requirements are reviewed and fully addressed for delivery implementation.
- Review WIN strategy and customer vision from the sales director for inclusion in the project plan.
- Ensure project plans and schedules are informed by business rules, national policy and guidance, local needs, and political insights.
- Awareness of changes within the project management profession
Execute project deliverables and maintain project lifecycle.
- Manage assigned projects with top-down oversight through entire execution to ensure success as defined by standards of scope, budget, and timeline throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that project team members and stakeholders have a clear understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and deliverables, with on-time transfer of deliverables within budget.
- Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Lead the project team to customer, stakeholder, and vendor meetings to assist in the accurate determination of project requirements and expectations.
- Effectively manage the project using project management tools and controls. Review proposed modifications to project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
- Ensure all agreed timeframes and milestones are met, especially the “Ready for Service” dates, which form the delivery service level agreement with customers.
- Communicate, liaise, and escalate (where necessary) within the company to ensure successful completion of the project and revenue forecast.
- Establish and carry out agreed-upon test and acceptance procedures (ATPs) and obtain sign-off from the customer (internal and/or external) on project completion.
- Manage deliverables of the system integrator, partners, vendors, and third-party contractors.
- Manage customer internal teams and 3rd party contractors in delivering on project requirements.
- Anticipate and transition to sales details of future projects by communicating directly with customers for future needs and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.
- Develop project presentations for customers and internal stakeholders; where required, write briefings and lines for potential questions.
- Coordinate participation in customer forums for implementation teams and site visits.
- Hold project meetings with clients to keep them up-to-date on milestones, operational functionality, and overall project status, addressing any questions/challenges with the project.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance processes and business rules.
- Conduct team briefings once the project has been initiated and throughout the life of the project cycle.
Train project team members on appropriate use of documentation (to include templates), project tools, and related techniques for project communicating and reporting. - Onboard completed projects for support within contract terms and service governance
Manage budget and resource allocation for the project.
- Manage project expenditure, ensuring billing and GRN are completed within project contract requirements and timelines, maintaining accuracy.
- Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects
Maintain Project Management Knowledge and Tool Centre (repository for project charter and plans, partner/client database, templates and performance for projects)
- Ensure all credentials and compliance documents used in projects are maintained
- Ensure database of partners and suppliers is updated and maintained
- Update repository of templated project plans, charter, budget calculators, and related documentation.
- Maintain high-end templates for improved visual project plans
- Update library of method statements, case studies, and good practice examples. Analytical reporting on performance and trends associated with the project implementation
- Make recommendations for partners and suppliers to meet project requirements.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of projects, status, deliverables and outcomes
What you'll need
Knowledge & Experience
- Ideally, a first degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Formal certification in Project Management OR equivalent experience
