
Economic Services Worker – Part Time

Join a team that values integrity, public service, and the power of human connection.In this role, you will assist with and/or determine eligibility for assigned Economic Services programs. Responsibilities may include:
• Interviewing clients and contacting third-party verification sources to obtain required information.
• Reviewing, evaluating, and verifying information to support eligibility determinations.
• Assisting Income Maintenance Caseworkers (IMC II) and/or independently completing eligibility actions, as assigned.
• Processing applications, recertifications, and case changes accurately and timely.
• Entering, updating, and maintaining case information in agency systems to ensure accurate documentation and tracking.
Program assignments may vary and can include Food and Nutrition Services, Energy programs, and/or Medicaid, depending on operational needs.
• High school diploma and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or public-contact experience involving interviewing, data collection/analysis, explaining information, negotiating, or related tasks, with at least one year in an income-maintenance program; or
• High school diploma and three years of similar paraprofessional, clerical, or public-contact experience; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to explain policies and procedures clearly and effectively.
• Ability to analyze information and apply eligibility rules and program guidelines.
• Empathy and a genuine interest in understanding and assisting client needs.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to learn and apply policies across multiple assistance programs.
• Available to work 20 hours per week, with a set morning or afternoon shift, Monday through Friday.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk, with intermittent standing, walking, stooping, or bending. The employee may occasionally lift light to moderate objects.
