Job Description

The Payments Program Manager is responsible for driving excellence across partner program management, international expansions, and payment partner onboarding. Based in Berlin or London, you will own end-to-end partner relationships and programs —identifying issues, driving resolution, spotting new opportunities, and advocating for improvements that raise the bar on partner and customer experience. This role requires a hands-on approach: you will resolve operational escalations, gather data, surface root causes, and lead cross-functional teams to sustainable solutions. You will equally apply that analytical lens to identifying and capturing new opportunities — whether geographic expansions, new payment methods, or process improvements that unlock efficiency and scale.

Key job responsibilities
Partner Program Management
• Own day-to-day management of assigned payment partner programs, serving as the primary operational point of contact
• Develop and maintain partner governance frameworks including QBRs, scorecards, escalation paths, and performance tracking
• Monitor partner health metrics and proactively drive performance improvements in collaboration with partners and internal stakeholders
• Manage cross-functional dependencies with Product, Technology, Legal, Finance, and Compliance teams to keep programs on track.

Issue Identification & Resolution
• Identify points of friction in payment acceptance and partner operations through data analysis and stakeholder engagement
• Resolve operational escalations end-to-end: gather data, investigate root causes, coordinate remediation, and drive to closure
• Build business cases for improvements, set requirements, and advocate for solutions with partner teams and internal leadership
• Produce clear, data-driven reporting on program status, risks, and escalations for senior stakeholders

Expansions, Onboarding & Opportunities
• Lead onboarding of new international payment partners and payment methods from scoping through go-live, ensuring delivery against milestones and SLAs
• Drive geographic and product expansion programs, coordinating technical integrations and commercial readiness across markets
• Identify and pursue new opportunities to improve payment acceptance, reduce cost, and enhance customer experience
• Build and improve scalable processes for partner lifecycle management, from initial assessment through steady-state operations
