Role Overview
We are seeking a Plumbing & Firefighting Design Engineer responsible for designing and developing plumbing and firefighting systems for industrial and logistics facilities, ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, efficiency and all relevant regulations. The role involves detailed system design, calculation, documentation, cross-disciplinary coordination and technical support throughout project stages.
Job Description
• Designing and developing plumbing and firefighting systems for industries including food, beverage and pharmaceuticals.
• Creating detailed design plans, layouts and specifications considering hygiene, safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new plumbing design projects.
• Selecting and specifying materials, components and equipment for plumbing systems.
• Preparing written parts for Concept, DTAC and PTh project stages.
• Performing calculations for water networks, drainage systems, storm water systems, hydrant systems and sprinkler hydraulics.
• Preparing bills of quantities.
• Coordinating with MEP, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Conducting site visits when necessary.
• Participating in design reviews, quality assurance processes and continuous improvement.
• Creating, verifying and validating Material Approval Forms and addressing design-related issues arising during conception, design and installation.
• Coordinating with the full design team including architectural, structural and mechanical disciplines.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in building services or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in plumbing and firefighting design.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and firefighting design principles, practices and regulations.
• Good knowledge of European standards, FM Global Standards and NFPA Standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is mandatory.
• Familiarity with industry-specific standards and guidelines.
• Understanding of material selection, fabrication techniques and plumbing equipment design.
• Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to assess design feasibility and address technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality, compliant designs.
• Background in designing plumbing and firefighting systems for industrial and logistics buildings is mandatory.
