THE POSITION
At STACK, the Sr. Project Manager is a senior, onsite leadership role responsible for supporting the successful execution during construction. This individual will serve as the primary onsite design and coordination lead, working closely with Construction, Development, and third-party design partners to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of design-related scope.
This role is highly execution-focused and requires a consistent onsite presence to provide real-time decision-making, coordination, and issue resolution. The Sr. Project Manager will act as the key bridge between field operations and design teams, driving responsiveness, accountability, and alignment to project schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
Project Execution & Field Leadership
· Provide full-time onsite support during construction
· Serve as the primary point of contact for design-related field coordination and issue resolution
· Drive timely responses to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings to maintain construction progress
· Partner closely with Construction teams to support critical path activities and minimize disruptions
· Facilitate daily/weekly coordination meetings with contractors, trades, and design partners
Design & Partner Management
· Oversee third-party AE firms to ensure responsiveness, accountability, and adherence to project requirements
· Expedite and manage RFI and submittal workflows to reduce turnaround times and rework
· Ensure design intent is clearly communicated and executed in the field
· Identify and escalate gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in design documentation
· Support resolution of complex technical and coordination challenges in real time
Schedule, Cost & Risk Management
· Proactively identify and mitigate design-related risks to schedule and budget
· Minimize design-driven change orders through early issue identification and resolution
· Track and report on key project metrics, including RFI turnaround, submittal approvals, and field issue resolution
· Support alignment to project schedule milestones and construction sequencing
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Collaborate closely with Development, Construction, Procurement, and Operations teams
· Ensure strong alignment between onsite activities and broader project objectives
· Support communication and reporting to internal leadership on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies
· Act as a trusted partner to both internal stakeholders and external partners
Governance & Reporting
· Participate in project reviews, including budget, schedule, and risk discussions
· Provide regular updates on design coordination performance and field execution
· Ensure adherence to STACK standards, processes, and project governance requirements
THE DETAILS
· Location: Santa Teresa, NM
· Travel: Minimal outside of project site
· Must be eligible to work in the United States
· Must pass comprehensive background screening
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field
· 10–15+ years of experience in design, construction, or project management roles
· Strong experience in data center design, development, and/or construction (preferred)
· Proven ability to operate effectively in an onsite, fast-paced construction environment
· Experience managing third-party AE firms and coordinating with contractors and trades
Technical & Professional Skills
· Strong understanding of design and construction workflows (RFIs, submittals, shop drawings)
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in real-time field environments
· Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
· Ability to balance technical detail with schedule and cost considerations
· Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
· Familiarity with design and coordination tools (Revit, BIM, etc.) preferred
Compensation Range:
