Job Summary
The Area Fixed Equipment Engineer provides technical expertise and recommendations for fixed equipment mechanical integrity, repairs, and reliability improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related Engineering degree
- Minimum 4 years of experience in refining/petrochemical industry (6 years preferred)
- Familiarity with relevant industrial standards and codes related to piping, valves, and pressure vessels (ASME, API, NBIC, TEMA)
- Valid Driver's License
Job Duties
- Provide daily technical support to maintenance and operations regarding the reliability of fixed equipment
- Provide engineering support for the review and approval of piping and equipment drawings using the applicable specifications
- Utilize ASME and API codes and standards for fixed equipment calculations, including but not limited to minimum thickness assessments, and vessel re-rates
- Perform pressure vessel evaluations and/or piping system stress analyses utilizing software programs such as PV Elite, Ultrapipe, and Caesar II
- Work with Maintenance and Inspection to review fixed equipment inspection data and assist with the development and approval of repair recommendations
- Support the planning and execution stages of process unit turnarounds
- Lead and assist with root cause failure analysis of fixed equipment and the development of reliability improvement recommendations
- Develop, present and maintain semi-annual Fixed Equipment Reliability presentations to keep the operating areas informed of short, medium and long-term reliability issues
- Work with the Capital Projects department to provide technical support and justification on fixed equipment projects
- CITGO hourly employees must be qualified as a temporary supervisor per the Supervisor Development Process (OSDP, MSDP, or LSDP) and meet the minimum qualifications listed above
